Yishu

Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art

In recent years, many important exhibitions of contemporary art have included examples with some Chinese focus. However, there has been remarkably little theoretical writing on these developments. Yishu is the first intellectually inclined journal to address this deficiency. Each quarterly issue contains scholarly essays and critical commentary on conferences, exhibitions, and books in the field of Chinese art. Upcoming issues will address such topics as art biennials in Chinese cities, art in Taiwan, the state of art in China, and the role of female Chinese artists working both inside and outside China.
