From its modest beginnings in 1947, University of Hawai‘i Press has grown from a largely regional press to one of the most respected publishers of Asian and Pacific studies titles in the world. We publish approximately fifty new books and two dozen journals annually in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences and keep close to 3,000 book titles in print.

In addition to publishing books and journals under our own imprint, we market and distribute a range of titles from University of Hawai‘i departments and scholarly and educational publishers in the United States, England, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere.
